[edit] ᎣᏏᏲ

Does anyone come here anymore? I'd be interested in contributing, I already added a couple of things. By the way, anyone know an easier way to type in Tsalagi than by clicking the letters at the bottom? Is there a Tsalagi IME out there somewhere? Thanks.

[edit] ᏫᎩ What?

Hello fellow editors? Are there any? I've applied for sysop rights, and so will soon translate some stuff according to how it was done over at ᏫᎩᏇᏗᏯ.

There are a couple important things to be decided specifically about Wiktionary though. The logo picture has to be updated with everything in Tsalagi. Keeping the same design isn't that important, as it hasn't always been the case with Wiktionary in other languages. Some languages change the design quite a bit. If anybody has a good idea please post it here.

Also, what should we be called? ᏫᎩ what? Somebody who knows Tsalagi well, and linguistic stuffs probably ought to manage that. And then the underline also has to be translated. That should be easier. "A wiki-based Open Content Dictionary", and it doesn't have to be exactly the same either, as long as it gets the meaning across.

Ok, I've been granted sysop permission, and have taken advantage of it. Any ideas on the logo and name? :)--Cherokeekid 08:03, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Should the name be something to do with Dictionary (the word), or tionary, the sounds? Wiki-Dictionary (meaning) is ᏫᎩ-ᏗᏕᏠᏆᏍᏙᏗ. --Cherokeekid 22:43, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Betawiki: better support for your language in MediaWiki

Dear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here on this wiki to use your language, but if you would log in to for example the English language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. Infact, of the 1793 messages in the core of MediaWiki, 0 messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages of almost 80 extensions, with 984 messages.

If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator priviledges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on meta and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.

If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible, for example by importing all messages from a local wiki for you to start with, if you so desire.

You can also find us on the Freenode IRC network in the channel #mediawiki-i18n where we would be happy to help you get started.

Thank you very much for your attention and I do hope to see some of you on Betawiki soon! Cheers! Siebrand@Betawiki 08:51, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
